Press Release - Clean clear drinking water to the children of Peak Hill Central School

World Environmental Solutions Pty Limited (WES) in association with Belrose Rotary, Youth Up Front and Property Portfolio Solutions (PPS), have come together under the Peak Hill Central School Employment Readiness Program to provide an Atmospheric Water Maker for the children of the school.

With the Employment Readiness Program, a pet project of Belrose Rotary which has been conducted now in excess of 20 years, providing skills to the students leaving and entering the workforce ever growing as part of the “giving back” strategy of Rotary.

With cash generously donated to Belrose Rotary by PPS, a business of Rotarian and past President Jeff Banks, the World Environmental Solutions machine will provide up to 60 litres of clean and cool drinking water all day every day to the youth of this Central Western Town.

Speaking at the ceremony to hand the machine over to the School, Wallie Ivison, founder and CEO of WES suggested we all need to say no to plastic water bottles, be they the convenience (and very expensive) use of a single purchase or the slavery of preservative infested water machine bottles, if we are serious about the continued protection of the planet. He also went on to say that within one year, with regular use, Air water Makers such as the 60 Litre one as part of this donation, or the more popular 15 and 30 litre models pay for themselves with the added benefit of cleaner water.

Air Water Generators chosen for the Republic of Kirabati with World Environmental Solutions Australia

Woodford, Queensland, Australia – May 13, 2022, World Environmental Solutions Pty Limited (WES), a global leader in Water from the Atmosphere was chosen by a large International NGO to supply certain Air to Water Technology (AWG) systems to The Republic of Kirabati in the South Pacific. Their biggest problem today on the Island is drinking water. Sea levels continue to rise due to climate change, and some countries may vanish into the ocean by 2050. The most at-risk is the South Pacific Island nation of Kiribati. Coastal erosion and freshwater contamination could make Kiribati uninhabitable in the next 30 years.

“The WES proprietary AWG Technology will be operated by Solar power in the Republic and will provide many of those Islands the ability to produce clean drinking water ”, says Walter (Wallie) Ivison CEO and founder of WES. “These units are perfect for many NGOs working in remote areas where access to decent drinking water is limited and access to clean drinking water is complex”, added Ivison.

“The various scaled design applications of MultiGen AWG state-of-the-art technology will initially provide a small but helpful solution for a variety of the Islands residents” says Walter Ivison, CEO WES.

This ever increasing and growing crisis with respect to clean drinking water will be coupled with the WES SOLAR HYDRA CUBE providing several larger water stations, a viable option for drinking water as slowly the ocean creeps higher and higher in Kirabati .

Air Water Generators Chosen for the Norfolk Island Bounty Descendants

Woodford, Queensland, Australia – November 13, 2022, World Environmental Solutions Pty Limited (WES). Our Water from Air Machines arrive on Norfolk Island, the home of descendants of the HMS Bounty Mutiny in the South Pacific. Some of the mutineers moved permanently from Pitcairn Island to Norfolk Island in the mid 1800’s. Their biggest problem today on the Island is drinking water.

“The 1700 or so residents, many descendants of the HMS Bounty, have no reticulated water and rely on rainwater catchment tanks and old bores. Most of these tanks went dry in 2019-2020. Conserving water has enabled islanders to weather inevitable dry years however in recent decades, dry spells in this part of the South Pacific have become more frequent and severe.” says Walter (Wallie) Ivison CEO and founder of WES.

“These units are perfect for many NGOs working in remote areas where access to decent drinking water is limited and is complex . The various scaled design applications of MultiGen Water from Air technology will initially provide a reliable but helpful solution for a variety of the Islands residents and guests ” says Walter Ivison, CEO WES.

This ever increasing and growing crisis with respect to clean drinking water is even more acute as the island relies on Tourists interested in the history of the Island as an early Australian penal colony in the late 18th century. These tourists frequent the many accommodation homes on the Island.

Viruses Can Hitchhike on Microplastics

Microplastics are not just tiny particles that can be ingested. They can also carry viruses, a University of Queensland study has revealed.

The study, led by Associate Prof Jianhua Guo and Dr Ji Lu from UQ’s Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnology (ACWEB), investigated if microplastics can harbour viruses, including the one found inside E. coli bacteria.

“We often hear about the human and environmental harm caused by microplastics in water. But there is little known about whether the tiny microplastic particles can carry viruses,” Dr Guo said.

“We found that viruses can hitchhike on microplastics and prolong their infectivity. It means there could be an increased risk of virus transmission throughout waterways and the environment.”

Dr Lu said they used the E. coli bacteriophage in the study, a virus that infects and replicates within the bacteria and is not harmful to humans.

“By testing polystyrene particles of varying sizes, we found that more than 98 per cent of the virus we used was found on the microplastic, and over half of the viruses could still be detected ten days later – much longer than if the virus particles were free-floating in the water,” Dr Lu said.

The team also tested how sun exposure and the size of microplastics helped prolong the virus’s survival. They found the more environmental damage on the microplastic, the more likely it was to carry viruses.

Microplastics have been found in human breast milk.

A shocking new study confirms some of researchers' worst fears: microplastics have been found in human breast milk.

Scientists and environmental activists have been warning the world about the dangers of microplastics for well over a decade. These tiny chemical contaminants have been found on the tops of remote mountains, in ocean water thousands of miles from human settlements, in table salt -- and even in the organs of human beings. Now that we know microplastics are transferring to newborn babies, who rely on breast milk or formula for the first months of their life, there is no excuse not to tackle this problem head on -- our babies deserve better.

The good news is that we know legislation can be effective at reducing plastic pollution. The Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 was a great step in this direction, and now we need further legislation targeting the sources of this microplastic pollution that is ending up in tiny babies' bodies. Sign the petition now to tell Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency: work together to reduce microplastic pollution in our environments from the source!
